- Sep 03, 2019 Microsoft Word is one of the popular text processing applications available. Though there are many alternate apps, Word is an ultimate document app due to universal use. However, slow performance of Microsoft Word is quite common on many computers due to various reasons.
- Dec 11, 2018 Microsoft Word’s extremely low performance on my previous MacBook was one of the reasons I briefly transitioned to PCs. It was so slow that I found it better to install Word on a Windows in Parallels Desktop and use it there. Even in my new Mac whenever a word file exceeds some 50 pages and some 10-20 of equations and figures Word slows down.

The problem arises when it becomes too slow, and you spend more time for the app to respond than actually working on it.
Users may see issues with fonts when using version 16.9 of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote and Microsoft PowerPoint on macOS.

Text appears garbled or in a different font

We recommend you check the installed versions of the font. If you have multiple versions, then make sure the latest version of the font is active.

Paul Lamb says February 1, 2019 The only Add In I had was Cisco Web Ex. I disabled it and now Word starts almost instantly. It was taking 10-15 seconds to load.
Running microsoft outlook on a mac. Search for cent and the Viewer should find the symbol you need.Despite the name Character Viewer, the Apple system tool will also insert characters into any program, including Office for Mac.Office for Mac has an feature which sucks (totally blows).

September 20, 2019I have a large capacity desktop with 1T SSD, 64 Gigs RAM, and Intel i7-8700, 64-bit CPU. Fast? Yes! But even when working locally on large documents (1000+ pages) it may take minutes to save a file. I know that repaination is a big problem. Is there any way to speed up this process?
